The National Civil Aviation Administration (ANAC) of Argentina officially announced this Tuesday the creation of two commissions focused on modernizing the national aeronautical system, as established in Resolution 1/2025 published in the Official Gazette. These measures are part of the guidelines set forth in Decree 606/2024, aimed at strengthening operational safety and harmonizing local regulations with international and regional standards, within the framework of the "open skies policy" implemented by Javier Milei's administration.

The document, signed by ANAC's interim administrator, María Julia Cordero, outlines the specific objectives of each commission.

The Commission for the Implementation of the Delegated Aviation Authority System will work on an action plan to structure and launch this framework, which seeks to delegate operational responsibilities under strict supervision mechanisms. The commission must present a final report that includes diagnostics, procedures, and regulatory recommendations, designed to ensure an orderly transition compliant with current legislation.

Meanwhile, the Commission for the Evaluation and Adoption of Latin American Aeronautical Regulations (LAR) will conduct a comparative analysis between national regulations and the standards promoted by the Regional Safety Oversight Cooperation System (SRVSOP). This analysis will cover key areas such as aircraft and aerodrome certification, operational safety standards, certification of air service operators, certification of air navigation service providers, transportation of hazardous materials, and operational requirements. The goal, ANAC assures, is to align and adopt the LAR to ensure greater integration with the region's regulatory frameworks.

Both commissions will include representatives from various ANAC departments, including operational safety, air navigation inspection, air transport, and airport services. According to the resolution, they must submit a preliminary report within 30 days of their formation, followed by a final report within the next 30 days.

The resolution emphasizes that these actions will not incur additional costs to ANAC's budget. Furthermore, industry stakeholders and other interested sectors are invited to participate in the commissions' work to include diverse perspectives and foster collaboration in policy design.
