Flight DM 4230 was operated in a Boeing 737 MAX registered under registration number HI1081 and christened «Jaragua», which took off from Las Americas International Airport (SDQ) at 07:53 local time and landed at General Mariano Escobedo Airport at 11:06. The non-stop service lasted four hours and thirteen minutes.

Santo Domingo (SDQ) becomes the second Caribbean route inaugurated this year in Monterrey (MTY), during the first half of 2022, Viva Aerobus started a non-stop connection from Havana, Cuba (HAV). These new services reinforce Nueva Leon’s connectivity with the Caribbean.

«Monterrey is our second route with which we started operations in the country, followed by Mexico City, with which we have a great opportunity to boost the transit of visitors for the benefit of economic, tourism, commercial and cultural development between both destinations» said Victor Pacheco, president of Arajet.

«In addition to being a perfect reason to encourage travelers from Monterrey to discover the broad portfolio of experiences offered by the Caribbean, which we know is one of their favorites, so we are sure they will fall in love with the land of merengue and the warm treatment of our people,» he added.

Arajet’s Mexican network will be comprised of three destinations, currently the airline has operations to Mexico City – Felipe Angeles (NLU) and Cancun (CUN) both with three weekly flights. Between the Dominican Republic and Mexico, the company will have an offer of 3,024 weekly seats in 16 operations.

«We are very pleased with the arrival of Arajet to OMA, to together boost the international connectivity of the HUB of northern Mexico, directly linking Monterrey with Santo Domingo, an important tourist destination in the Caribbean,» said Ricardo Dueñas, CEO of OMA.

During 2022, Monterrey (MTY) has expanded its domestic and international connectivity, with the addition of two domestic routes to Mexico City – Felipe Angeles (NLU) and Cozumel (CZM) and six international routes: Los Angeles (LAX), Havana (HAV), Las Vegas (LAS), Chicago O’ Hare (ORD), Seoul – Incheon (ICN) and now Santo Domingo (SDQ).
