The Dominican airline Arajet celebrated this week the arrival in Santo Domingo of its sixth Boeing 737 MAX 8, which bears the registration HI1104 and has been named «Isla Saona», following the tradition of naming its aircraft in honor of the country’s main protected areas.

This aircraft, manufactured in 2018, previously operated for Norwegian with the registration LN-BKB.

As seen in Cirium Fleet Analyzer, there are three other Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft scheduled for delivery this month, and in January and February 2024 (two would bear the registrations HI1103 and HI1098).

With the arrival of the sixth plane, the Arajet fleet is comprised as follows:

    • HI1026, named «Pico Duarte».
    • HI1027, named «Valle Nuevo».
    • HI1081, named «Jaragua».
    • HI1082, named «Ojos Indígenas».
    • HI1078, named «Los Tres Ojos»
    • HI1104, named «Isla Saona».

The HI1103 would be named «Bahía de las Águilas» and the HI1098 «Laguna Redonda Miches».
