Aircalin schedules the world’s longest domestic flight

Aircalin will offer a direct flight between New Caledonia and France connecting Nouméa to Paris-Charles de Gaulle with a stopover in Bangkok, Thailand. Due to the political crisis in the French overseas territory, the airline has significantly reduced its international offer by canceling its flights to Tokyo-Narita used for connecting, as a result also Air France suspended its services to that destination, consolidating its operation in the Japanese capital at Haneda airport.
As of December 11, 2024, Aircalin will begin flights to Continental Europe on Airbus A330-900neo aircraft with a capacity of 291 seats in three classes: 26 Business Class, 21 Premium Economy, and 244 in Economy. The segment to Bangkok in both directions will not be marketed and will operate as a technical stopover.
The service covers more than 16,000 kilometers and will last between 22 and 26 hours, making it the longest direct domestic flight worldwide, Aircalin is awaiting approval from the Thai authorities to begin marketing this route.
Aircalin and Air France’s partnership allows connecting Nouméa with Paris-Charles de Gaulle via Singapore’s Changi Airport, Aircalin is planning a non-stop service between the two destinations, to materialize this flight the airline is looking to obtain either Airbus A350 or Boeing 787 aircraft.
