Airbus to produce A220 family components in India

Airbus has announced that Dynamatic Technologies, based in Bengaluru, will be responsible for manufacturing and assembling doors for the smallest aircraft in the A220 family.

This contract aims to strengthen the capabilities of the A220 program, where Dynamatic Technologies will be in charge of constructing passenger, service, and cargo doors, as well as emergency exits located on the wings.

Furthermore, the agreement involves the manufacturing of detailed component parts, opening up new opportunities for other suppliers in India.

Strengthening the Relationship between Airbus and Dynamatic

This agreement further consolidates the relationship between Airbus and Dynamatic. The Indian company already produces the Flap Track Beam for the A330 and A320 programs, as well as the emergency exits for the A220 cabin.

It’s worth mentioning that this is the second contract Airbus has awarded to an Indian company in less than a year. Tata Advanced Systems, for its part, is responsible for producing cargo and general doors for the A320 family.

India as a Strategic Center for Airbus

With an investment of $750 million in purchasing components and services in India, Airbus expects these figures to increase significantly, surpassing $1.5 billion in the coming years.

Airbus has taken various initiatives to strengthen the aerospace industry in India, including the installation of a final assembly line for the C295 military transport aircraft in Vadodara, which will be managed by Tata Advanced Systems. The first deliveries are expected to take place from 2026.
