    airBaltic continues to consolidate its position as the leading airline in the region, and with the launch of 11 new routes for the 2024 season, the company is strengthening its position and its continued expansion.

    For the upcoming summer season, airBaltic plans to add 11 new routes: 7 from Latvia, 2 from Estonia and 2 from Lithuania. In addition, the airline plans to increase its operations on high-demand routes from Riga such as Rome, Tel Aviv and Prague, among others.

    «When preparing for the upcoming season, we always carefully assess the market situation and passenger demand. This time, we have identified the opportunity to expand our network in Central and Southeastern Europe with connections to the Baltic and Nordic countries. We are therefore pleased to expand airBaltic’s offering next summer with convenient direct flights to this region and to also increase flight frequencies on our existing leisure and business routes,» said Martin Gauss, President and CEO of airBaltic.

    New airBaltic routes from Riga for the summer of 2024

    • Alicante, Spain: two weekly flights starting February 27.
    • Tirana, Albania: two weekly flights starting May 2.
    • Sofia, Bulgaria: three weekly flights starting May 2.
    • Ljubljana, Slovenia: two weekly flights starting May 2.
    • Skopje, North Macedonia: two flights weekly as of May 2.
    • Chisinau, Moldova: twice-weekly flights starting May 4.
    • Pristina, Kosovo: twice weekly starting May 4.

    All services will be operated on Airbus A220-300 aircraft with capacity between 145 and 148 seats in single configuration and promotional fares are available from EUR 79. In addition to the new routes from Riga, airBaltic plans to fly from Tallinn (Estonia) to Billund (Denmark) and Malta; Vilnius (Lithuania) to Krakow (Poland); and Palanga (Lithuania) to Amsterdam (Netherlands).

    In 2023, airBaltic undertook an extensive expansion during the summer season with the start of 20 new routes to popular destinations in Spain, France, Portugal, Greece, among others. In the winter, the company is scheduled to offer another 11 new services and begin operations from its new base in Gran Canaria. In addition, airBaltic is in negotiations with Airbus to acquire 30 A220 aircraft.

    airBaltic operates more than 100 routes from Riga, Tallinn, Vilnius and Tampere, providing connections to a wide range of destinations in the airline’s route network in Europe, the Middle East, North Africa and the Caucasus region.
