To this end, it will base two Airbus A220-300 there from the end of October, operating flights to ten destinations in northern continental Europe. The services will be available for purchase through the company’s official channels from 21 June.

Currently, the airline only operates flights to Las Palmas from Riga International Airport (RIX), its main hub. The route was inaugurated in November 2022 and marked the second destination served by airBaltic in the Canary Islands (it already operated out of Tenerife South-Reina Sofía International Airport).

«For winter months, when the overall passenger demand worldwide is traditionally lower, we have identified an opportunity to optimize our capacity to be as efficient as possible by establishing a seasonal base and operating two aircraft from Las Palmas to serve the demand for sunny and leisure destinations», Gauss commented.
