Air Canada Resumes Flights to Peru and Expands South American Network for 2025/2026 Summer Season
Air Canada is strengthening its presence in South America for the Southern Hemisphere’s 2025/2026 summer season, with the return of direct flights to Lima, Peru, from both Toronto Pearson and Montreal. The airline will operate two weekly flights on each route. Air Canada had suspended its Lima services in March 2023, leaving Air Transat as the only carrier linking Canada and Peru since then.
During the austral summer, the Canadian carrier also plans to launch new routes from Toronto Pearson to Cartagena and Rio de Janeiro, and from Montreal to Santiago de Chile and Cartagena. These additions will join its current South American services to Bogotá, Buenos Aires, São Paulo/Guarulhos, and Santiago de Chile.
At its 2024 Investor Day, Air Canada unveiled a wave of new Latin American destinations, supported by the introduction of next-generation aircraft such as the Airbus A321XLR. The airline has also signaled intentions to expand into Guyana, El Salvador, northeastern Brazil, and other emerging regional markets.
