Last Saturday, December 18, an AerCaribe Antonov 26 with registration HK4730 had an incident while landing at Fabio Alberto León Bentley Airport in Mitú, capital of the department of Vaupés, Colombia.
According to the company, the aircraft, considered to be in optimal airworthy conditions at the time of the flight, experienced an unexpected turn at the time of landing, resulting in an aborted procedure due to hitting the tip of the right plane against the runway pavement.
The aircraft, which landed safely a few minutes later, showed major damage to the tip of the right plane, which was destroyed.
In accordance with the company, the Civil Aeronautics Accident Investigation Group will be in charge of publishing the results of an ongoing investigation.
