Avianca strengthens connectivity between El Salvador and North America with the reactivation of routes to Boston (BOS) and Orlando (MCO) starting in June. The company will have 10 destinations to the United States operated from Central America for the summer season.

“With these new destinations we strengthen connectivity between the United States and El Salvador, which will benefit Salvadorans living here and looking to spend their vacations abroad, as well as compatriots residing in Boston and Orlando, who will now be able to travel non-stop to visit their families”, said Rolando Damas, Avianca’s Sales Director for North America, Central America and the Caribbean.

With this announcement, the company is addressing the strong VFR (friends and/or family visiting) demand between the United States and Central America by offering customers greater travel options. Currently, Avianca’s North American network from its hub in San Salvador (SAL) has non-stop service to Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW), Washington – Dulles (IAD), Houston – Intercontinental (IAH), New York (JFK), Los Angeles (LAX), Miami (MIA), Ontario (ONT), San Francisco (SFO), Mexico City (MEX) and Toronto – Pearson (YYZ).

“With this new route, almost 66 thousand Salvadorans living in the state of Massachusetts will benefit, and more than 81,000 if we take into account the New England region, who also use the Boston airport to mobilize”, said Cindy Mariela Portal, Vice Minister of Diaspora and Human Mobility.
