    Last weekend Sky High Aviation started its operations in Venezuela with the inauguration of two new services to Maracaibo (MAR) and Porlamar (PMV): both services were operated by Embraer ERJ 145. This is the first time the Dominican airline lands in South America.

    With the arrival of Sky High, Santiago Mariño International Airport once again has international operations. On July 2, the first service was flight DO 741, the aircraft registered with registration number HI1052 took off from Porlamar (PMV) at 21:22 local time and landed at Las Americas International Airport at 22:59.

    Flight Itinerary

    • Santo Domingo – Porlamar (Margarita Island) Flight DO740 SDQ 14:00 – VLN 15:30 Thursday and Saturday.
    • Porlamar (Margarita Island) – Santo Domingo Flight DO741 VLN 17:00 – SDQ 18:30 Thursday and Saturday.

    On July 3, the company began operations at La Chinita International Airport (MAR), the first service was flight DO 730 operated in an Embraer ERJ 145 registered with registration number HI1053, the aircraft took off from Santo Domingo (SDQ) at 07:58 local time and landed in Maracaibo (MAR) at 09:26. The airline also inaugurated last Saturday its first office in the capital city of the state of Zulia.

    • Santo Domingo – Maracaibo Flight DO730 SDQ 08:00 – MAR 09:30 Friday and Sunday.
    • Maracaibo – Santo Domingo Flight DO731 Tue 17:00 – SDQ 18:30 Friday and Sun.

    Sky High plans to start routes to Caracas (CCS) and Valencia (VLN) from July 6 and 7 respectively, the airline will serve the main South American markets from Las Americas International Airport (SDQ). Passengers will also have the option of connecting to other destinations in the airline’s network such as Curaçao (CUR), Aruba (AUA) and Miami (MIA).

    According to data obtained by Aviacionline through the Civil Aviation Board (JAC), 125,881 passengers flew between the Dominican Republic and Venezuela in 2021, making it the Caribbean country’s largest market in South America.
