Argentinian INVAP signs a deal for the export of two 3D primary radars

INVAP, the world-renowned argentinian technology company, signed a deal for the export of two 3D primary radars to Nigeria.

According to the agency’s press release, INVAP and UAE’s Jampur International FZE signed a contract for the provision of two 3D mobile primary radars for civil use, model RPA-200MC, to be located in Nigeria, a provision that will also include the training of the personnel who will operate them.

RPA-170, from which the exported RPA-200s are derived.

The deal was signed in March by Mr. Mohammad Shafiq CEO of Jampur International FZE and Dr. Vicente Campenni, General Manager of INVAP.

Jampur International FZE is responsible for the provision of airport equipment required by the Federal Ministry of Aviation of Nigeria to improve the safety of civil aviation operations in that country.

This radar model, in its mobile and civilian version, is the most recent addition to the family of RPA radars designed by INVAP.

Its modular design and transmitters distributed in the antenna allow it to operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, with high availability, minimal preventive maintenance and low logistical and operational costs throughout its life cycle.

The radar can be operated remotely and integrates with traffic management (ATM) and multi-sensor command and control systems, minimizing the staffing required to operate it.

The systems make use of techniques considered the State of the Art in the area, known as Software Defined Radars. It also has solid-state amplifiers with GaN technology and an active antenna with Digital Beam Forming.

This export of radars by INVAP to a new market on the African continent will allow it to continue developing as a provider of radar technology in the international arena. It is also an important step to consolidate itself as a benchmark company in the market for all-purpose Critical Mission systems.

INVAP grows and exports

The radars to be exported to Nigeria are evolutions of the medium-range RPA-170, and the civilian version of the RPA-200M, recently acquired by the Argentine Air Force.

These contracts, together with the first Argentine space export (through the Brazilian Amazonia-1 satellite) show that INVAP is a company that masters the latest current technological standards, but is always committed to pave its way into the future by continuous development.
