Eastern Airlines suspends operations between Miami and Guayaquil

Two days after the start of a new route by Eastern Airlines, the company announced through its website the cessation of flights between Miami and Guayaquil. The company currently has two weekly operations in the Boeing 767-300, configured with 244 seats.

According to the information published on its site, Eastern Airlines will make its last flight between the two cities on July 7. In the message published by the company, it communicates the cancellation of operations, and requests that passengers with tickets purchased after the suspension date contact Eastern to receive a refund.


All Miami (MIA) <—> Guayaquil (GYE) flights after July 7th have been cancelled. Please contact the call center (+1-855-216-7601) or your travel agent to receive a full refund.


The Guayaquil – Miami section joins Sarajevo, Santo Domingo and Georgetown to the suspended routes of Eastern Airlines. Likewise, the company will continue to operate in the mentioned Ecuadorian city, from and to New York, three times a week with Boeing 767s.

On the other hand, according to the Cirium platform and the reservation system, Eastern Airlines once again postponed the start of operations between Miami and Belo Horizonte until at least August 30. In principle, the company planned to start its flights at the end of July.
