The route will operate daily using Airbus A320ceo and A320neo aircraft, each with a capacity of 174 passengers, offering approximately 2,436 seats per week. This direct service will reduce travel time from 5 hours and 30 minutes—currently required for flights with a layover in São Paulo—to just 3 hours and 10 minutes.

    Flight Schedule

    • Flight LA 8022: GIG 10:15 PM – EZE 1:25 AM (+1) / Daily
    • Flight LA 8023: EZE 5:30 AM – GIG 8:15 AM / Daily

"The last time we operated flights between Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires was in March 2024. This seasonal service allows us to bring one of Argentina's favorite destinations in Brazil closer to travelers, expanding options for our customers," said Florencia Scardaccione, LATAM's Commercial Manager in Argentina.

"We expect to transport around 19,500 passengers on this route, which has been specifically planned for the peak travel season," she added.

Strong Demand on the Rio-Buenos Aires Route

According to Brazil’s National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC), 1,061,537 passengers traveled between Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires in 2024, making it Rio's busiest international route and the third most significant for Argentina's capital.

Argentine airlines have dominated the market, carrying 75% of all passengers, driven by strong tourism demand from Argentina in recent months.
