New Tango 01: C&L Aerospace Completes Sale of VVIP Boeing 757 to Argentine Government

C&L Aerospace, a subsidiary of C&L Aviation Group, successfully completed the sale to the Argentine government of a Boeing 757 in VVIP configuration for presidential travel.

The transaction, which involved the trade-in of the current presidential Boeing 757, also includes a $25 million loan approved by the Argentine government to finance the acquisition over ten years.

The new presidential aircraft is designed to accommodate up to 39 passengers and has a master suite and two additional bedrooms. The former Boeing 757-200, equipped with Rolls-Royce RB211 engines, will be offered for sale by C&L “in as-is condition.” The prospective buyer will bear the costs of maintenance and relocation from its current location in Buenos Aires, the El Palomar Air Base, home of the I Air Brigade of the Argentine Air Force.

“We are pleased to facilitate the acquisition of this vital asset for the Argentine Government,” stated Martin Cooper, Senior Vice President of Sales for C&L Aerospace. “Our business model and our focus on customer relationships allow us to effectively address complex problems and support requirements.”

C&L Aviation Group, headquartered in Bangor, Maine, is a leading provider of service, maintenance and support to operators in the corporate and regional aviation sector. In addition to aircraft and engine sales and leasing programs, the company offers parts support, heavy maintenance, interior refurbishment, aircraft scrapping, disassembly services and aircraft management. C&L has offices in Australia, Africa, Europe, Singapore and Latin America.

The Argentine government announced plans to acquire a new presidential Boeing 757 last year, and the recent transaction resulted in C&L Aerospace successfully selling the aircraft to Argentina’s General Secretariat of the Presidency for presidential travel.

Cooper reiterated, “We are delighted to help one of our key customers secure this crucial asset for their government. Our entrepreneurial approach and emphasis on customer relationships lends itself well to solving complex problems and supporting them.”
