Copa Airlines lands in Texas with flights to Austin

Copa Airlines continues to strengthen its North American connectivity with the launch of new flights to Austin (AUS) beginning July 6, 2023, the company’s 15th nonstop service in the United States. For the first time, the Panamanian airline will connect with the state of Texas through the “Hub of the Americas” located in Panama City.

“We continue to strengthen our network of destinations in the United States. The addition of Austin to our route network represents a window of opportunity to increase business, tourism, cultural and educational exchanges between the Texas capital and Panama and our entire region,” said Pedro Heilbron, CEO of Copa Airlines.

We are very pleased to be able to provide greater connectivity to our passengers and contribute to the growth of tourism and business in Panama and the countries we serve,” added Heilbron.

This new service to the Texas capital will complement Copa Airlines’ U.S. operations to Tampa (TPA), Miami (MIA), Orlando (MCO), Atlanta (ATL), Boston (BOS), Chicago O’Hare (ORD), New York (JFK), Denver (DEN), Washington – Dulles (IAD), Las Vegas (LAS), Los Angeles (LAX), San Francisco (SFO), Fort Lauderdale (FLL) and soon Baltimore (BWI) beginning June 28. The airline maintains suspended its flights to New Orleans (MSY) until further notice.

Flight Itinerary

  • Panama City – Austin Flight CM 715 PTY 09:18 – AUS 14:04 Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday.
  • Austin – Panama City Flight CM 716 AUS 15:34 – PTY 20:17 Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday.

The route will be operated on Boeing 737-800 Next Generation aircraft with a capacity of 160 – 154 passengers in two classes (16 Business Class/144-138) and promotional fares are available from USD 241 one way. The Panamanian airline will offer on this new route convenient connections to Central America, South America and the Caribbean through its hub at Tocumen International Airport.

Copa Airlines will be the first Central American carrier to offer nonstop flights at Bergstrom International Airport (AUS). In addition, the Latin America and Caribbean network at Austin (AUS) reaches Liberia – Guanacaste (LIR), Cancun (CUN), Mexico City (MEX), Puerto Vallarta (PVR), San Jose del Cabo (SJD), Monterrey (MTY), Cozumel (CZM), Punta Cana (PUJ), Montego Bay (MBJ) and soon Panama City (PTY).
