Turkish Airlines strengthens its operation in Panama

Turkish Airlines continues to strengthen its operation in Panama by increasing air operations and seat offering. At the end of October 2022, the company started non-stop flights between Istanbul and Tocumen International Airport (PTY).

The airline celebrated the start of non-stop operations to Panama together with their codeshare partner Copa Airlines. The ceremony was attended by Panama’s Minister of Tourism, Ivan Eskildsen; the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to the Republic of Panama, Lebibe Gülhan Ulutekin; the SVP of Copa Airlines, Christophe Didier and the CEO of Turkish Airlines, Bilal Ekş.

For the 2023 summer season, the company will operate to Tocumen Airport (PTY) with Airbus A350-900 aircraft with a capacity of 329 passengers in two classes (32 Business Class/297 Economy), offering on this route 4,417 weekly seats, a 4% increase compared to 2022 levels.

Flight Itinerary

  • Istanbul – Panama/Tocumen Flight TK 903 IST 13:15 – PTY 19:10 Tuesday, Friday and Sunday.
  • Panama/Tocumen – Istanbul Flight TK 904 PTY 20:50 – IST 17:30+1 Tuesday, Friday and Sunday.

  • The A350 will be operating between March 28 and July 9.

For the winter season, the Turkish airline will increase its non-stop operations to Panama by increasing the service to 4 weekly flights operated on Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner with a capacity of 300 passengers in two classes (30 Business Class/270 Economy), the company will offer 4,843 weekly seats.

  • Istanbul – Panama/Tocumen Flight TK 903 IST 14:00 – PTY 20:15 Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday.
  • Panama/Tocumen – Istanbul Flight TK 904 PTY 21:45 – IST 18:25+1 Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday.

The Turkish airline will continue to operate the triangulated route between Panama (PTY) and Bogota (BOG) with daily Boeing 777-300ER flights.

According to data obtained by Aviacionline through Tocumen Airport statistics, Turkish Airlines has mobilized 105,446 passengers in the January – November period in Panama. The company has become the main European airline operator to the Central American country in terms of seats per kilometers offered (ASK).
