Air Transat recovery in Europe to reach almost 90% in Summer 2023

Air Transat is strengthening its European operation for the 2023 summer season where it will offer up to 26 European destinations in the Netherlands, Greece, Switzerland, France, Belgium, Ireland, Portugal, United Kingdom, Italy, Spain and Croatia. The leisure airline will operate these services from Toronto (YYZ), Montreal (YUL) and Quebec City (YQB).

According to data compiled by Aviacionline through Cirium, Air Transat will have 45,078 weekly seats on offer between Canada and Europe in July, this represents an 87.6% recovery in capacity from 2019 levels.

“This flight schedule is perfectly in line with our mission, which is to encourage discovery and foster openness, whatever the destination or reason for travel,” said Michèle Barre, Air Transat’s Vice President, Networks, Revenue Management and Pricing.

“From an operational standpoint, the more efficient use of our aircraft allows us to increase flight frequency and regain a capacity similar to what we had before the pandemic,” added Barre.

During the peak summer season, the airline will offer from its main hub in Montreal (YUL) 88 flights a week to 19 European destinations; from Toronto (YYZ) it will have 73 operations a week to 15 cities in Europe; and from Quebec (YQB) non-stop flights are scheduled to London (LGW) and Paris (CDG).

Air Transat will also serve additional destinations through its codeshare and Connectair platform partners in Europe, including Aegean Airlines, Azores Airlines, Loganair, easyJet, SKY Express and Vueling.
