This Wednesday (14), Qantas inaugurated its services between Sydney (SYD) and Bangalore (BLR) with four weekly flights. For the first time Southern India is connected to Australia with non-stop flights.
Flight QF 67 was operated in an Airbus A330 registered with registration VH-EBP, the aircraft took off from Kingsford Smith Airport (SYD) at 10:11 local time and landed at Kempegowda International Airport (BLR) at 17:03, the flight had a duration of 11 hours and 25 minutes.
This new route seeks to capture corporate passengers coming from the technology industry, leisure and VFR (friends and/or family visiting), the arrival of this service is in time for the upcoming school vacations.

Qantas continues to re-establish its international network by targeting new high-demand international destinations by offering more point – to – point routes, no longer channeling all of its passenger traffic through hubs such as Hong Kong or Singapore. Bangalore (BLR) is the carrier’s second destination in India, complementing its non-stop services between Melbourne (MEL) and Delhi (DEL).
Flight Itinerary
- Sydney – Bangalore Flight QF 67 SYD 09:30 – BLR 16:55 Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
- Bangalore – Sydney Flight QF 68 BLR 18:35 – SYD 10:20+1 Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
The route will be operated on Airbus A330-200 aircraft with a capacity of 257 seats in two classes (27 Business Class/224 Economy) and promotional fares are available from USD 892 round trip.
Qantas recently launched a codeshare partnership with IndiGo, India’s largest airline operator. There are currently 11 destinations available for connection from Bangalore (BLR), including Mumbai, Goa, Kolkata and Chennai.

“The addition of Bangalore to our route map deepens our ties with India and follows the launch of direct services from Australia to Delhi last year, which have also proved popular. Qantas is now the only airline to offer direct flights between Australia’s two largest cities and the north and south of India,” said Andrew David, CEO of Qantas Domestic and International.
