JetSMART Peru receives authorization for international flights

Peru’s aeronautical authority granted the request of JetSMART’s local subsidiary and authorized operations to Colombia, Bolivia, Ecuador and Chile.

The DGAC granted permits for scheduled passenger, cargo and mail operations with third and fourth freedom of the air traffic rights in accordance with the different pre-existing agreements of the Andean Community, the Fortaleza Agreement and the bilateral agreement between Peru and Chile.

Thus, the operator is allowed:

LIMA LA PAZ-LIMA, up to seven (07) weekly frequencies.

LIMA-SANTA CRUZ-LIMA, up to seven (07) weekly frequencies.

AREQUIPA COCHABAMBA AREQUIPA, up to seven (07) weekly frequencies.

AREQUIPA LA PAZ-AREQUIPA, up to seven (07) weekly frequencies.

LIMA BOGOTA – LIMA, up to seven (07) weekly frequencies.

BOGOTA CUSCO-BOGOTA, up to seven (07) weekly frequencies.

AREQUIPA BOGOTA-AREQUIPA, up to seven (07) weekly frequencies.

Under the Fortaleza Agreement

AREQUIPA-SANTIAGO-AREQUIPA, up to seven (07) weekly frequencies.

The aircraft used for these services is the group’s workhorse: the Airbus A320. The authorized operating bases are Jorge Chavez in Lima as main and Trujillo and Arequipa as secondary.

Although it is a formality, the DGAC clarifies that according to Article 89° Numeral 89.2 of Law No. 27261, other air operators that are serving the same route or route segments may oppose this authorization, which will be heard in a Public Hearing.
