Boeing 737-400F crash in Montpellier, France: What we know

A Boeing 737-436F belonging to cargo specialist West Atlantic exceeded the runway limit at Montpellier airport and ended up semi-submerged in the Étang de l’Or lake, located on the outskirts of the terminal, near the Mediterranean Sea.

The French investigation authority, the BEA, opened an investigation into the accident.

The aircraft registration EC-NLS performing flight SWN-5745 from Paris Charles de Gaulle to Montpellier with 3 crew members, landed on Montpellier runway 12L at 02:36L (00:36Z) but overshot the end of the runway and came to rest with the nose gear already submerged in the water, about 200 meters/650 feet past the end of the runway. There were no injuries.
