Blue Air wipes out all flights from its booking system

Less than a month after canceling all flights and pledging to restart its operations on October the 10th, Blue Air, the largest Romanian airline, has wiped out all flights from its schedule, even after that date. The information was broken by BoardingPass.ro, the country’s largest aviation news outlet, via Twitter.

Until halting its flights, Blue Air was the second largest airline in Romania, with bases in four local cities (Bacău, Bucharest, Cluj and Iași) and another in Turin, Italy. It operated a fleet of fourteen Boeing 737s, of which five were of the next-generation Boeing 737 MAX 8 series. It had a commitment with Air Lease Corporation (ALC) for another five.

Up until now, it planned to restart operations with five aircraft, and it has already returned most of its fleet.

The Romanian market will still have three major players: Wizz Air – which was already the largest airline in the country -, Ryanair and state-owned flag carrier TAROM.
