Iberojet announces flights to Santiago de Cuba

Iberojet announced that as of November 11, 2022, it will start a new route between Madrid (MAD) and Santiago de Cuba (SCU), the company’s third destination on the Caribbean Island.

This flight will be non-stop and will be operated once a week in Airbus A330 aircraft, tickets are already available for sale through the airline’s website and all its official channels, fares are available from 283 euros each way.

Flight Itinerary

  • Madrid – Santiago de Cuba Flight E9 827 MAD 16:00 – SCU 20:10 Friday.
  • Santiago de Cuba – Madrid Flight E9 828 SCU 22:10 – MAD 12:45 Friday.

This new service will be available throughout the year and represents new options for Spanish travelers to connect with other cities in the Caribbean country, Santiago de Cuba is the second most important city on the island by number of inhabitants.

With the launch of this unprecedented route, Iberojet reaffirms its commitment to the Caribbean destinations most in demand by the Spanish market. In December 2021, the company opened its first office in Havana’s Miramar Trade Center, demonstrating the company’s commitment to continue strengthening its operations in Cuba.

In addition, the Ávoris airline will increase its routes between Madrid (MAD) and Havana (MAD) from three to five flights per week and will offer a weekly frequency between Lisbon (LIS) and Varadero (VRA) during the high season.

Iberojet’s arrival in Santiago de Cuba (SCU) is thanks to the collaboration of the Cuban government, the private sector and tourism authorities to attract more tourists and boost the destination’s economic development.

For the northern winter season, Iberojet will have an offer of 2,028 seats per week between Spain and Cuba, it will be the fourth largest airline in this market.

“With this new flight, not only do we demonstrate our continued commitment to this incredible country, but also that our company continues to work on diversifying the Spanish market’s vacation destinations, an ambitious development plan that takes shape with the inauguration of this new route” said Paul Verhagen, Iberojet’s Deputy General Manager.

“Thanks to this new route launched by Iberojet airline, the Spanish market has a magnificent opportunity to get to know Cuba from one of the most interesting cities in terms of history, culture and heritage,” said Niurka Pérez Denis, Tourism Counselor at the Cuban Embassy in Spain and Portugal.
