United Airlines has resumed flights between Los Angeles and London Heathrow

United Airlines on April 16 resumed flights between Los Angeles (LAX) and London (LHR) after a suspension of more than two years due to the pandemic, flight UA923 took off from LAX at 17:04 and landed at Heathrow Airport at 11:15 the following day.

Flight Itinerary

• Los Angeles – London Heathrow UA923 LAX 17:10 – LHR 11:45+1 flights daily.
• London Heathrow – Los Angeles UA935 LHR 16:15 – LAX 19:15 daily flights.

The flights will be operated in a 257-seat Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner that includes the company’s new products, the aircraft has the following configuration: 48 Polaris Business Class, 21 United Premium Plus, 39 Economy Plus and 149 Economy.

The route between Los Angeles (LAX) – London Heathrow (LHR) is one of the main routes between the United States and Europe, according to data obtained by Aviacionline through Civil Aviation Authority UK (CAA) in 2019 mobilized 1,602,892 passengers, United will be the only Star Alliance airline to operate in this sector and will compete against American, British Airways and Virgin Atlantic.

The Chicago-based carrier plans during the season to offer up to 22 daily flights to the British capital from the company’s seven hubs and the resumption of point-to-point service from Boston (BOS). This is part of the company’s transatlantic expansion for the 2022 summer season, where United will be the leading carrier between the U.S. and Europe.

London Heathrow (LHR) will be United’s only European hub at Los Angeles (LAX), according to information compiled by Aviacionline through Cirium, the carrier will offer another long-haul service to Sydney (SYD) and Tokyo Narita (NRT) on Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner daily flights and by June 24 will begin operations to Tokyo Haneda (HND) and will operate daily on Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner 318-seat aircraft.

London Heathrow (LHR) will be the main transatlantic destination in United’s network; during the summer season, the airline will offer 282,844 seats per week in 1,364 flight operations to the British capital.
