“We believe that this launch will help us to continue positioning ourselves in Peru, since Miami is one of the preferred international destinations for Peruvians, so we expect to achieve one daily flight by August and transport more than 9,000 passengers per month. This new route will allow us to continue growing in the region, while contributing to the arrival of more tourists to Peru,” added Vargas.

In August 2020, SKY applied to the U.S. Department of Transportation (DoT) for its permits to operate to Florida and these were approved in October of the same year, with the start of its flights it will be the only low-cost operator on the Lima (LIM) and Miami (MIA) route where it will compete against other legacy airlines such as LATAM and American.
