KLM to fly to 12 destinations in the U.S. for the 2022 northern summer season

KLM will offer a total of 12 destinations in the United States, the company’s most important intercontinental market, for the 2022 northern summer season.

The company will resume operations to Salt Lake City (SLC) and add a new non-stop service to Austin (AUS), the company’s second Texas destination. Data obtained by Aviacionline through Cirium will provide 55,484 seats per week on 174 flights to the United States.

  • Austin (AUS) three times weekly on Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.
  • Boston (BOS) four times weekly on Airbus A330-300.
  • Washington Dulles (IAD) daily flights on Airbus A330-300.
  • Houston – Intercontinental (IAH) six times a week on Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.
  • New York (JFK) 19 times a week on Boeing 777-200ER/787-9 Dreamliner/787-10 Dreamliner.
  • Las Vegas (LAS) five times weekly on Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.
  • Los Angeles (LAX) 13 times weekly on Boeing 777-200ER/787-9 Dreamliner/787-10 Dreamliner.
  • Minneapolis (MSP) four times weekly on Airbus A330-300.
  • Chicago O’ Hare (ORD) six times weekly on Boeing 777-200ER/787-10 Dreamliner.
  • San Francisco (SFO) 10 times weekly on Boeing 777-200ER/787-10 Dreamliner.
  • Salt Lake City (SLC) three times a week on Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.

Data compiled by Aviacionline through Schiphol Airport Statistics, 6,357,536 passengers were mobilized in 2019 on more than 25,000 air operations between Amsterdam and the United States. KLM and its Joint Venture partner Delta Airlines offer the most seats and destinations between the Netherlands and North America of any airline alliance.

Prior to the pandemic, the Dutch airline and its U.S. Skyteam partner served the top destinations by a number of passengers from Amsterdam (AMS) to U.S. destinations.

  1. New York (JFK) 1,020,699 passengers.
  2. Atlanta (ATL) 808,734 passengers.
  3. Detroit (DTW) 629,375 passengers.
  4. Minneapolis (MSP) 566,998 passengers.
  5. San Francisco (SFO) 407,537 passengers.

Passengers flying to Amsterdam (AMS) in 2019, 30% were for business, 3% for congress and/or study, 46% for tourism and leisure, 20% to visit friends and/or family, and 1% other.
