Aeroméxico Cargo Launches New Delivery Service

From December 7, Aeroméxico Cargo offers a “Home Delivery” service, which is initially available in six cities so that customers can receive the package in the location that customers want and will allow them to make shipments from the cities that are part of the airline’s national network.

The 6 cities where this service is available are: Mexico City, Guadalajara, Monterrey, Mérida, Tijuana, and Cancún.

According to a press release, packages may be up to 80 kilograms per piece and with maximum dimensions of 145x125x80 centimeters for goods of up to 100,000 Mexican pesos.

The processes were implemented under the highest standards of freight transport and the benefits include the following:

  • Delivery on the same arrival day
  • Savings in travel times and costs
  • Package tracking in real-time
  • Comfort
  • Security

The Mexican flag carrier estimates that in the first year it will be delivering more than 27,000 thousand packages.

Aeroméxico Operated More Than 400 Cargo Flights During the Pandemic

Last week it took off from Mexico City to Hong Kong, Aeromexico’s cargo flight number 401.

As a result of the global health contingency, Aeroméxico organized its talent and infrastructure to carry out exclusive flights for cargo transportation.

Since then and to date, the flag carrier of Mexico has transported almost 10,300 tons to 18 countries in Asia, Europe, and America.

These operations represent a record for the company and together, they covered a route of nearly 11 million kilometers, equivalent to 270 world laps per year.

The Mexican flag carrier transported over 7 thousand tons of medical supplies, 43.5 tons of vaccines, and 46 tons of active substances for vaccine manufacture in Mexico.

Some of the most interesting data from Aeroméxico’s cargo operations during the pandemic are:

  • For the first time in the history of the Mexican flag carrier, 25 exclusive cargo flights were carried out between Mexico and China.
  • The longest direct flights were made in the history of Mexican aviation. The first one is between Shenzhen and Mexico City, traveling more than 14 thousand kilometers, and the second between Hong Kong and Mexico City with about 14,200 kilometers.
  • 8 Aeroméxico’s Dreamliner aircraft crossed the Pacific Ocean simultaneously during
  • the exclusive cargo flights that flew to and from China.
  • Aeromexico operated to airports where it had never flown such as Moscow, Wuhan, Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Winnipeg, Fortaleza, Belo Horizonte, Porto Alegre, Aruba, among others.
