Aerolineas Argentinas reactivated a second Boeing 737 MAX

This Tuesday (20) at 08:57 local time the first regular flight of Aerolineas Argentinas‘ Boeing 737 MAX 8, registration LV-GVD, took off from Aeroparque Jorge Newbery Airport. The aircraft was preserved at Buenos Aires since 2018.

The airline has in service the Boeing 737 MAX 8 registered as LV-HKU, in addition to the LV-GVD. These aircraft will operate only domestic routes, to and from Aeroparque. Later on, they will resume flights to regional destinations, as before the limitations, where they operated to Punta Cana, Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo.

Aerolíneas Argentinas has five MAX aircraft in its fleet. One of them is at Aeroparque while others are parked at Ezeiza:

  • LV-GVD: Active
  • LV-GVE: Ezeiza Airport
  • LV-HKU: Active
  • LV-HKV: Aeroparque Jorge Newbery Airport
  • LV-HKW: Ezeiza Airport

Regarding the pending MAX from Aerolineas Argentinas, the contract is still in force but there are still no details of dates or possible changes.

Copa Airlines has regular operations between Panama City and Buenos Aires with its Boeing 737 MAX 9. The frequency of flights depends on the authorizations by ANAC. GOL Linhas Aereas also had operations to Argentina with the MAX, but flights to Argentina are suspended until at least October.
