LATAM will continue to transport COVID-19 vaccines for free in its domestic markets

-

Since the COVID-19 vaccination campaign began in Latin America at the end of 2020, LATAM Airlines transported 23.7 million doses for free through more than 300 flights that reached 50 locations in Chile, Peru, Ecuador and Brazil,  after the company offered itself to do it in the countries that has domestic operations.

Among the places where the doses arrived are Easter Island in Chile, Galapagos Islands in Ecuador, Iquitos in Peru and all the states of Brazil.

This week the airline informed that it will continue to transport vaccines under this modality throughout 2021.

This action is framed within its “LATAM Solidarity Plane” program, which has already served to transport 480 tons of medical supplies, more than 1,400 organs and tissues, and more than 1,300 health professionals to attend emergencies derived from COVID-19.

LATAM Cargo has served as a bridge to transport more than 48 million vaccines to South America, being the first airline in the American continent, and the only one in the region, to obtain the IATA CEIV Pharma certification, which internationally accredits that the facilities, the equipment, operations, and personnel comply with all applicable standards, regulations, and guidelines expected by pharmaceutical manufacturers.
